I love both cornhole and minigolf, so when I heard there was a course in Butler County, PA that combined the two together, I knew I needed to check it out.
Cornhole Golf is a patent-pending creation of the folks at Mars-Bethel Golf in the community of Mars, Pennsylvania. It opened in 2024 at this unique destination that also features a par-3 golf course, a mini golf course, and a soccer golf course, as well.
Wanting to check it out for myself, I headed out to the Cornhole Golf course during the 2026 season.

The first thing that struck me was how much fun the theming was.
Since it’s located in Mars, PA, it made perfect sense that it was fully decked out in a really fun space theme with UFOs, aliens, and more all throughout the course. Many of these also served as hazards or things you had to throw around as you made your way around the course.

The rules for Cornhole Golf are relatively simple to learn and follow, so you can quickly get started. Score is kept on your phone in a browser window (No app required).
There are three throwing spots for each hole, dubbed “Drive”, “Chip”, and “Putt”, each closer to the hole than the last. If you get it in the hole, you get 1, 2, or 3 points, depending on which spot you got it in from. If you don’t get it in the hole after three throws, you score a four.

There are a few other rules, including a way to reduce your points, but you can read up on the nitty gritty when you check it out for yourself.
While each successive throw is from a closer spot than the previous one, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are easier. In fact, it wasn’t uncommon for an obstacle to be in the way that necessitated throwing around something or even switching your throwing hand.
I thought this added a lot of fun.

While I didn’t play my round with my kids, I did think about what their experience would have been like playing Cornhole Golf.
The “Drive” holes are often quite far from the hole, which makes sense for adults, but I think a lot of younger kids would struggle to throw the bag far enough. Since it’s not like mini golf where you can putt a few times to get close, it would require some rule changes to make it work for kids.
Kids, or shorter adults, might also struggle with the placement of some obstacles, which would given an advantage to taller players in some instances.

On the other hand, kids would certainly enjoy the theming of the course as its very cartoonish (in a fun way), so I’m sure they could have a lot of fun with some rule tweaks. However, I think this course is probably best for teenagers and adults for the reasons stated above.
Overall, I thought Cornhole Golf was a lot of fun, and that the challenge level was just about perfect for me (I shot a few strokes under par during my visit).

This is the first Cornhole Golf course in the world (with a second now in Arkansas), and I’d love to see this concept rolled out in more places, so that I could try it again on a different course (that maybe would have some built in adaptions for younger players) in future years, as it really was a lot of fun.
Definitely something I’d recommend for groups of teens and adults to check out when exploring Butler County, PA.
Cornhole Golf can be found at the Mars-Bethel Golf Course in Mars, PA. It is open early April through October each year.
