The Poconos used to be known as the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” And while some of these historic resorts still exist, the region is now better known for its amazing waterfalls and charming small towns.
The Poconos region is located in the northeastern corner of Pennsylvania and borders both New Jersey and New York along the Delaware River.
The area is dominated by the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area which is the closest thing Pennsylvania has to an actual National Park. The Delaware Water Gap is home to the tallest waterfalls in Pennsylvania, as well as dozens of smaller drops along the many beautiful waterways.
Further afield, charming towns like Stroudsburg, Milford, and Jim Thorpe offer shopping, dining, and historic hotels.
