If you want to go apple picking in PA, there are many farms throughout the state that offer this activity and many also sell other fall treats like apple cider, pumpkins, and gourds.
Even better, there are some great fall festivals that occur at many of these orchards in PA that ensure you’ll be able to have a ton of fun throughout the season.

Hollabaugh Bros. Inc – Biglerville
The orchard at Hollabaugh Bros. Inc is open for apple picking every day of the week. In addition to apple picking, you can also dig up your own sweet potatoes and go on an Orchard Scavenger Hunt. Plan to stop in at the market and bakery for freshly picked produce and baked goods like apple cider donuts, bread, and dumplings.

Paulus Mount Airy Orchards – Dillsburg
Located just a 25-minute drive south of Harrisburg, Paulus Mount Airy Orchards offers some of the best apple picking in PA during September and October. In addition to apples, you can also pick your own sunflowers during the month of September.
In October and November, visitors to the farm can also enjoy a little fall fun. Come get lost in their 5-acre corn maze, and then head to the Pumpkin Patch to pick your own pumpkins to take home for carving. When you purchase an all-day Weekend Farm Admission, you will have access to the corn maze and the Playland at Paulus Mount Airy Orchards.

Indian Orchards Farm – Media
Located less than 30 minutes from Philly, Indian Orchards Farm is a great spot to go apple picking near Philadelphia. This orchard specializes in organically grown fruits and vegetables and has a variety of items that can be picked throughout the year. Their pick-your-own apple season usually begins in the second half of September and goes into November each year.
In addition to apple picking, Indian Orchards also offers pumpkins, fresh apple cider, and mums at their farm stand. Note that they have an admission fee for the pick-your-own orchards.
Strites’ Orchard – Harrisburg
Strites’ Orchard is open during their apple season for pick-your-own apples in Harrisburg.
Strites’ market features local products like coffee from Little Amps Roasters and cheese from Camelot Valley Cheese. They even have a full bakery and offer call-ahead ordering for picking up your favorite pies and cookies.

Triple B Farms – Monongahela
If you’re looking to go apple picking in Pittsburgh, don’t miss Triple B Farms which is just 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Triple B Farms offers both apple picking and pumpkin picking at their farm. Starting in September, visitors can check out the many fun activities at Pop’s Farmyard every fall weekend.
Visitors to the farm can purchase an all-inclusive wristband during the festival that will allow them access to many of the autumn-themed activities on the farm including the farm animals, giant slides, and much more.
Half Crown Hill Orchard – McDonald
If you are planning on taking younger children apple picking this fall, then Half Crown Hill Orchard in McDonald is a must-do this season. This orchard specializes in dwarf apple trees making it easier for little hands to reach the apples for picking.
Half Crown Hill Orchard also maintains its own beehives for pollinating their apple trees, so you can also purchase their honey at the farm market.

Highland Orchards – West Chester
Located about 1 hour west of Philadelphia, Highland Orchards is the perfect setting for your fall apple picking adventures. Pick your own apple season starts in late summer and goes through October.
The orchard also hosts a Fall Festival every weekend from mid-September through early November. Festival-goers can pick their own pumpkins in addition to apple picking. There will also be kids’ activities, freshly made apple cider donuts, food trucks, hayrides, local crafters, and much more.

Sceiford Quality Fruit – North East
If you happen to be in the Erie area, then you must plan a visit to Sceiford Quality Farm for some fun Pennsylvania apple picking this fall. The family-owned and operated orchard is open Sunday-Thursday from 11a-5p and on Friday and Saturday from 9:30a-5:30p.
They also do a variety of other fruit picking during the season, so there’s always something nice to pick at this farm.
Norman’s Orchard – Tarentum
Specializing in heirloom fruit varieties, Norman’s Orchard offers pick your own apples until around late October or early November. They also sell their homemade apple butter & local honey on site. And, since many of the varieties here are different than those you’ll find at other orchards, you can try some really unique flavors here.

Grim’s Orchard & Family Farms – Breinigsville
Covering 26 acres, the apple orchard at Grim’s Orchard & Family Farms offers 20 different varieties of apples for apple picking each season. In addition to apple picking, Grim’s Orchard offers a pick-your-own pumpkin patch in the fall and during Halloween. You can also enjoy a corn maze and a fall festival with 21 different attractions.

Solebury Orchards – New Hope
Open rain or shine, Solebury Orchards offers wagon rides to their pick-your-own apple orchards every weekend in September and October. After spending an afternoon apple picking, be sure to stop in at their market to pick up some homemade applesauce and fruit butters to take home with you.

Cherry Hill Orchards – Lancaster
Offering a wide variety of apples from Fuji to Red Delicious, Cherry Hill Orchards’ pick-your-own apple season is one of the first to begin each year, and in the fall months, you and your family can catch a hayride to the orchard to go apple picking.
They also offer hand-picked pumpkins.

Gray’s Apple Ridge Orchard – Jonestown
Featuring semi-dwarf trees in their orchard, Gray’s Apple Ridge Orchard offers apple picking in PA to the public on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Apple picking is available Monday through Thursday by appointment only.
Gray’s also has a pumpkin patch where you can actually cut your own pumpkin right from the vine. You can also purchase apple cider, pies, apple crisp, homemade jams, and chocolate candy at the orchard.

Apple Castle – New Wilmington
You can pick apples right from the trees at Apple Castle every Saturday from 9am to 4pm in September and October. You can also pick your own pumpkins in their pumpkin patch.
Apple Castle will offer tractor rides to the orchard and pumpkin patch in October.

Flinchbaugh’s Orchard & Farm Market – Hellam
Head to Flinchbaugh’s Orchard & Farm Market in eastern York County from around mid-September to late October to take the family apple picking.
On Fridays and Saturdays during the season, you can harvest your own pumpkins, take on the 5-acre corn maze, visit the sunflower fields, or try your hand at pumpkin painting.
Soergel Orchards – Wexford
You can stop in at Soergel Orchards from July through November for pick-your-own apples near Pittsburgh.
After working up an appetite from all that apple picking, head to Soergel’s Deli for lunch. Soergel’s Orchards also features a bakery, wine shop, gift barn, and a hard cider taproom.

Weaver’s Orchard – Morgantown
Located just 15 minutes south of Reading, Weaver’s Orchard is a must-do this fall in Berks County.
In addition to apple picking and kiwiberry picking, you and your family can also enjoy special activities at the orchard such as pony rides, live entertainment, barrel train rides, and much more on Saturdays from mid-September through October.

Shady Brook Farm – Yardley
Apple picking near Philly is available at Shady Brook Farm Wednesdays through Sundays. Tickets for pick-your-own can be purchased in advance online. Admission is $5 online or $7 at the gate and includes a wagon ride to the apple orchard. You can pick your own pumpkins at the farm during September and October.
Shady Brook is also home to an annual FallFest that is held every weekend starting in mid-September. FallFest activities include wagon rides, a spider web climb, an adventure course, a kid-friendly “haunted” barn, as well as a 5-acre corn maze. Purchase tickets online in advance to save some money.

Simmons Farm – Canonsburg
You can pick apples seven days a week at Simmons Farm in Canonsburg. Times and availability for apple picking do sometimes vary according to the weather, so they do advise that you call ahead before arriving at the farm.
As part of their Fall Activities, pick your own pumpkins are available beginning in mid-September through October. For a single admission price, you can have access to all of the Fall Activities at Simmons Farm including hayrides, a petting zoo, corn mazes, and an apple rock labyrinth.

Linvilla Orchards – Media
Offering over 25 varieties of apples, Linvilla Orchards is a great spot to visit in southeastern PA.
An $11 entrance fee is charged for each person entering the orchards and includes a small container for picking. Larger containers can also be purchased during your visit.
Visit the Orchards from mid-September through early November to enjoy Pumpkinland, an annual tradition for generations in the Delaware Valley area. Pumpkinland features a corn maze, a jack-0-lantern display, face painting, hayrides, and train rides.
