I always love finding sunflower fields to visit, so I was excited to finally check out the sunflower field at September Farm in Honey Brook, PA.
September Farm is best known for its farm store that features their incredible homemade cheeses and ice cream, a great restaurant, and more local foods. However, every summer, they also play host to a large sunflower field on the field adjacent to the store.
Coming in at about 6.5 acres in size, this sunflower field is typically in bloom sometime between late July and late August. In 2026, they actually planted about half the field three weeks after the first half, prolonging the blooms into nearly a month and a half of beautiful flowers.
It’s worth noting, however, that, in 2026, the first field to bloom was the larger one and closer to interesting backgrounds for your photos like the barns, so visiting early might be best if you are going primarily for photographs.
The sunflower field at September Farm is free to visit from dawn to dusk (even when the store isn’t open), and visitors can walk along the edge of the field, enjoying the beauty of the area, taking photographs, and even feeding the goats in the enclosure next to the flowers.
Unlike some other fields, such as the huge Lesher’s Sunflower Field near Chambersburg, picking flowers typically isn’t allow here. However, during the last weekend before the field is mowed down, visitors are allowed to collect as many as they would like for free. Just know that many will be past their peak at this point.
Since you can’t pick the flowers, the main draw here is simply walking around the field enjoying the beauty and taking photos. And while it’s certainly not the largest field you’ll find in PA (that again is the aforementioned Lesher’s), it’s definitely a lot of fun to check out this spot, especially if you are in the Chester County and Lancaster County area.
While visiting, I also definitely recommend heading inside the store if it’s open.
There is a really large array of locally made goods including, as noted before, homemade cheese and ice cream. If you’re lucky, you might even seen them making cheese through the large windows into their production facility, though they weren’t on the Saturday that I visited.
During my visit, I opted to get some ice cream, which was very good, and I highly recommend trying some during your visit as it’s a great snack to enjoy while visiting the sunflowers.
For those looking for more food, they also have a restaurant on-site, though it was quite busy on the Saturday that I visited during peak season, so keep that in mind.
Overall, if you love sunflowers, September Farm’s field is definitely a great one to check out. While it’s not the largest you’ll find in the area, it’s a nice size, and their offset planting extends the season to well over a month, which gives you even more time to check it out!
